Dispatchers - 4th of July 2002. Three of the dispatchers handled traffic from the EPS Parking
& Traffic teams, spread throughout a 34 block street closure. Note radio mounted under
computer on near dispatch position.


Fourth dispatcher position monitored Public Safety agencies. Fifth position (rear) is the Parking & Traffic
Dispatcher, who controlled what streets were opened and closed throught the day.


New dispatch console, installed for the 2004 season. All radio traffic is recorded during the event.



Dispatcher position. All radio traffic is routed through headsets, reducing the amount
of "noise" in the room. Using the flush mounted push buttons, the dispatcher can
control what they are hearing through each side of the headset. They could have
their radio in one ear and the dispatcher's intercom in the other. They can also select
to have their radio in both ears, or choose one of four other feeds, such as local
broadcast radio or tv, scanners, etc.
